  22.04.2024 starting from the morning, as an active cyclone approaches Latvia from the southeast, in the western and central regions of Latvia heavy snowfall is expected - locally 5-8 cm thick snow cover will form. 22.04. in the evening, as the air temperature drops, light frost and very heavy snowfall is expected - in some parts of the western and central regions the snow cover could reach 10 cm. Glaze ice will form on the roads, locally during snowfall visibility will decrease to 200-500 m and in some places light blizzard is expected. Locally a deposit of wet snow will form on wires and tree branches. BE PREPARED for very heavy widespread snowfall that will cause disruption to transport movement on roads and railroads. Air traffic, pedestrian movement and outdoor activities will be disrupted as well. Take care when moving on roads, longer journey times will be needed
